Book Review 105: Waves, Sand & Magic by Neeraja Kona.

 


A collection of 101short poems, Neeraja Kona's Waves, Sand & Magic is a thought-provoking read. Life and love are the two main themes on which the poems are based. 

This book is not just a collection of poems. Each poem is accompanied by a beautiful photograph. The presentation is wonderful. The author has brilliantly depicted the emotions in very few words, through her poems. It seems like the author has captured a moment, a feeling in words. Each one is unique in its own way. The words echo love, pain, disappointment, gratitude, - that constitute the journey of life. 

The title of the book- Waves, Sand & Magic - perfectly captures the theme of the book.

Among the hundred-and-one poems, some of my favourites are -Becoming, Within, Bridge, Airport, Paradox, Flirt, Chase, and Signs. 

It is a very short read. It took me just a few hours to complete reading the entire collection. I not only loved reading the poems but also the beautiful photographs. Each picture had a meaning. 

Overall, Waves, Sand & Magic by Neeraja Kona was quite a refreshing read. 


About the author: Neeraja Kona is the author of Waves, Sand & Magic. A wanderer by heart, she feels writing and photography are the two true representations of who she really is. She has combined her passion for writing, travelling and photography and her zest for life and love in this book. Every word and picture was born out of a purpose, and this book is a collection of all such moments echoing the trials and tribulations of one’s journey in life and love. Neeraja works as a costume designer and a stylist for movies. She calls Hyderabad her home.

Book Review 54: Satyayoddha Kalki by Kevin Missal.

Satyayoddha Kalki: Eye of Brahma is the second book of the Kalki Series by Kevin Missal. The first book Dharmayoddha Kalki was quite interesting. The second part is no less than the first one. It's equally good. After I completed the first book, I was very eager to read the second book of the series. After the events that took place in the first book, this book begins with the events that follow. The book begins with the third part - The Coup at Indragarh.
