Author Interview 2: With Arushi Vats.

Hello everyone! Hope you guys are doing great.
I am back with another Author Interview Session. And today, we have with us here, Arushi Vats. She has authored two books. One is a collection of poems, and her latest release is a novel.

I loved her debut work, i.e., the collection of poems, 'Fragile Strings'. Here's the link to my review of the book: https://exploringthebookishworld.blogspot.in/2017/12/book-review-7-fragile-strings-by-arushi.html .

Arushi's new book, 'When Broken Hearts Meet' has recently released.

So, today we are gonna discuss her new book, and a lot more!

Me: Hello and welcome to my blog. Firstly I would like to congratulate you on your new book. Tell us something about the book.

Arushi: Thank you very much! My book is a romance fiction novel. It is based on two college students, Avanti, the protagonist and Suhaas, the happy go lucky guy. The story goes like this that Avanti meets Suhaas. They become friends. Avanti is a conflicted girl, shattered in the tussle between her past and present and Suhaas is the typical prince charming who has two sides, one which he keeps to himself and the other which he shows to everyone.
As their story proceeds ahead, both of them begin to feel an affinity for each other. But deep in the realms of their hearts dwells chaos that occurs because of their past relationships. Avanti and Suhaas’ friends make efforts to unite them as they know that they love each other.
Eventually, it’s up to Suhaas if he will confess his love or not but the important question arises here is, will Avanti find the courage to leave behind her tumultuous past and embrace her love story? So this is what the story is about. I hope you like it.

Me: So, how did you begin writing? Did you intend to become an author, or do you have a specific reason/reasons for writing?

Arushi: I remember vividly that I use to read a lot of books during my undergraduate days and then I had this passion to write something, like I had started writing in my diary and I would share with my friend of how I would write a story. She suggested me to try this social networking site called Quora where she had recently joined.
I followed her suggestion and began answering people’s questions related to short stories, love stories, creative writing topics etc. Within few weeks, I started getting a lot of upvotes and views and in a month I was counted in the list of top ten writers in Quora. I was totally amazed and awestruck at how people were liking my stories. It just happened this way that through Quora, I found my passion and since then onwards, I embarked on my journey towards writing.

Me: What was the hardest part of writing this book?

Arushi: When I started writing this novel, I thought that it wouldn’t be that difficult but as the story went forward, my patience was waning and at times, I felt lost and discouraged. In fact, many times, and I remember that the most difficult part was the end. I wanted the end to be perfect because for me the end of the story is very crucial and important so I really worked on it for many days to make sure that the end was satisfying. Thankfully, I have been successful at it.

Me: What are your top three favourite books of all time?

Arushi: This is an interesting question and I would love to answer it without any second thoughts! My top three favourite books are The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Peril at end house by Agatha Christie and The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.

Me: What has been one of your most rewarding experiences as an author?

Arushi: The most rewarding experience as an author has been when one person messaged me saying that they loved my book and that my book had motivated them and also inspired them to focus on their present. It was one of the best feeling ever knowing that I had changed someone’s life.

Me: What is the most important thing about a book in your opinion?

Arushi: I think it would be the character’s emotion. While you are reading a book, you read what the character feels. This intense feeling of the character makes you feel empathy for them. You feel like your life is no different than theirs, that you too have gone through this dilemma or situation. This emotional discovery of characters life sets it apart from the story and it is their journey that seems most intriguing to me.

Me: Who is your favourite author?

Arushi: My favourite Author is Paulo Coelho. It was his first book The Alchemist that made me develop the habit of reading. And then, after reading his first book, I couldn’t wait to read the rest of his books. I think I have completed reading the whole set of his books except The Spy. His writing style inspired me to become a voracious reader that I am today. Also, his books motivated me to start writing.

Me: Where do you get greatest ideas for writing?

Arushi: I am a good listener and observer. When I hear someone narrate how their day turned out to be or what happened with someone, out of that I get this idea to venture into this topic and then when I write, I craft out a story out of that idea. It is sometimes in the ordinary events and incidents that I get this idea to write a story.

Me: Apart from writing, what other passions do you have?

Arushi: Besides writing, I love playing my keyboard, reading books and watching movies that thrill me.

Me: Any messages for your readers?

Arushi: Well, I would like to say that it’s important for us to live life in little moments. Often we tend to see the bigger picture, we wait for our destination to arrive but we forget that the journey is more fulfilling and enthralling than anything else.
