Book Review 6: Journey Across The Street by Madusudhan R.

Journey Across The Street-Madhusudhan R.

"When you travel, you don't fear the unknown. You become a part of it.

You don't meet a million people. You meet yourself, in million forms." She had once said.

I had fallen for a gypsy heart.

We were complete opposites. She was a secret traveller, I was a dreamer.

She was filled with experiences, I was filled with stories.
Though we lived across the street, we spoke to each other after 14 long years of awkward silence. Everything had changed. She was a well kept secret. Everything about her was a missing piece of beautiful puzzle she had turned into. But the Universe had other things to offer before I could bring all the pieces together. After all that only one question remained, WHERE IS RHEA?

'Journey Across The Street' by Madhusudhan R.  is a romantic story with a touch of thrill in the plot. The story is beautifully narrated and the turn of events are totally unexpected. This leaves the reader hooked to the book.

Goutham and Rhea are the protagonists. The story tells us how their childhood friendship develops into romantic attraction, after not communicating due to a scuffle, for almost fourteen long years. The story is narrated from Goutham's point of view. The way the author has portrayed the chemistry between the protagonists is commendable. Goutham is a happy-go-lucky guy whose passion is to write plots and make short films. He seems creative. He has a group which includes  his college friends. The camaraderie they share is enjoyable and leaves a smile on the reader's face. Rhea's character in the beginning seems dark and mysterious. But as the story unfolds, we see her true character, and how strong it is. The story has twists which cannot be predicted during the course of the story.

The characters are all very well developed and the way each of them contributes to the plot is amazing. The narrative is short, easy, fast-paced and crisp; and the language is lucid. The plot is very gripping, and has emotional and philosophical angles in it too, besides the romantic setting and thriller elements.

The book is definitely recommended for anyone who loves beautiful romantic stories with a hint of thrill in them.

Thanks to the publicity team 'The Book Planet PR' for the e-book in exchange for an honest review.

Madhusudhan wrote his first novel on love when he was 21, because he realised writing about love is easier than actually finding it. His hobbies have changed from time to time but watching people behave remained his fav.
He has written short film, ad films and along the side has also completed his bachelor's degree in Aeronautical engineering. He is currently working as a design engineer in a well known Aerospace firm. If he is not writing, you can find him watching  Sitcoms, or wondering if penguins have knees.
